Claudia arrived at Hadar Chalet believing she was taking part in a winter styled shoot. Marian knew the day would become something much more personal. With the help of their friends, he had prepared a surprise marriage proposal in the forest.
A real surprise proposal in the forest
Claudia and Marian are the creative people behind Sauvage Events. Their friends Simona and Silviu from Jurnal Fotografic invited them to Hadar Chalet for what appeared to be an ordinary creative session. Claudia had no reason to suspect that the plan had been built around a question Marian had been waiting to ask.
The day began quietly inside the chalet, close to the fireplace. Outside, the forest was covered in snow and the location felt completely removed from the noise of everyday life. That privacy made Hadar Chalet a natural setting for a proposal that needed to remain secret until the final moment.
The handwritten letters
In a clearing among the trees, Claudia and Marian exchanged handwritten letters created with Charmink Calligraphy. For Claudia, the letters were still part of the session. For Marian, they were the way into the proposal.
She read first. When Marian began his letter, the tone slowly changed. His pauses became longer and the emotion in his voice made it clear that this was no longer a scene prepared for photographs. He asked the question, Claudia understood the real reason they were there and her answer came through tears and laughter.
We stayed at a distance and allowed the moment to happen without interruption. The surprise, their voices and the reactions of the people around them became the centre of the film.
