Richa and Jamie did not travel to Tuscany for a single wedding day. They invited their families and friends to share an entire weekend at Villa Bellaria, with time to arrive, eat together, laugh, sing and slowly become part of the same celebration.
A British and Filipino wedding weekend
At the end of June, guests travelled from the United Kingdom and the Philippines to Campagnatico, in the Maremma area of southern Tuscany. Bringing two families together in another country could easily have felt complicated. Instead, the weekend was warm and unhurried because everyone stayed close and had time to connect before the ceremony.
The celebration began with a white welcome party beneath the trees. Red gingham tables, Italian food, speeches and laughter created an easy first evening. Later, karaoke and dancing transformed dinner into the first real party of the weekend. By the time the wedding day arrived, the guests no longer felt like separate groups who had travelled from opposite sides of the world.
The wedding day at Villa Bellaria
On the wedding day, guests walked together from the villa to Madonna delle Grazie for the ceremony. This short journey became part of the experience. There was no complicated transfer and no feeling of rushing between unrelated places. The village, the church and the villa belonged to the same story.
After the ceremony, everyone returned to Villa Bellaria for cocktails and an outdoor dinner. The courtyard changed as the daylight faded across the hills. Long tables, warm lights and the closeness of the guests gave the evening a sense of intimacy that is difficult to create in a more formal venue.
The speeches were especially important. They connected Jamie’s family from the UK with Richa’s loved ones from the Philippines and gave context to everything we had filmed during the weekend.
